PETA sucks
I live in Arcata in Humboldt county, one of those most hippy dippy places in the US. It bugs me when I see people talk about all these different organizations that claim to be helping the planet or helping the animals but don't actually research the stats to find out if they really are helping. I say if you want really want to help the earth, plant some trees or buy a couple acres in the rainforest (its not that expensive) or if you want to help animals then adopt one, or donate to directly to the cause. There are many pounds and rescue centers that will accept donations in the form of money or dog beds/toy, find those locally and spread your love that way. Peta is just a big corporation, you know how those work, they are just trying to make money. It might have started as a way to help animals but it sure as hell didn't work out. Don't waste your money so they can put it into ads to get more people to put money into their corporation. Be smart about how you donate so you are sure your money is actually helping the cause.

Putting down un-adoptable animals isn't so bad-- you can't always find people who will take proper care of the animals and sometimes it's the kinder thing to do. And ALF are pretty cool, they're 'direct action' groups, not terrorists though. Still technically illegal, but big difference.
ReplyDeleteBut a 97% percent kill rate... they could do better then that.
ReplyDeleteLess than 1% spent on helping animals? Really?
ReplyDeleteIts an entire organization build on hypocrisy. Don't trust those guys at all. You'd think they'd only have no kill shelters.
ReplyDeleteThey could get a job XD
ReplyDeleteGood post.
hmmmm, interesting
ReplyDeletePETA Sucks, but I do love baby otters
ReplyDeleteAny organization with that many pretentious followers has to be a huge warning sign.
ReplyDeleteit reminded me of article about breast cancer.. not even 30% goes to the real purpose & more than 50% goes to the staff. you got good point & thanks for the inforgraph
ReplyDeleteThe hypocrazy (not a typo) of PETA is astounding. Glad to see other people recognize it as well.
ReplyDeleteI saw that Peta informational picture a longgg time ago and have been trying to find it ever since to show a couple people I know. Definitely saving it this time!! Lol.
