New theory says that 'Tractor Beams' are possible

My friend showed me this article from BBC news talking about how it is known that lasers can be used to push objects but they just found out that it is possible to pull objects towards the laser as well. I can see lots of uses for this technology so I hope they improve it.

    this will mostly be used in particle science, at least at first. it can't pull anything very heavy or large, so dreams of tractor beaming an enemy starship are pretty far off at this point. still cool though.

    With a constantly replenishing supply of snacks and beverages within range of the beam, we would never need to leave the comfort of our computers.

    Now we just need to invent the snacks and beverage replicators.
